One of just 195 produced in 1969, this "big bad blue" AMC AMX was restored and 2010 with many of the desirable go-fast bits mixed in. It'll cross Mecum's auction block on May 17-20 during their sale in Indianapolis.

I want it, but my organs aren't worth enough on the black market.

Correction, not interested as this AMX has a list of issues. Let's start with the 1968 door panels in a 1969 car, the awful aftermarket steering wheel, the incorrect seat patterns, the non-Go-Pack center waterfall in the dash (which means this car should not be wearing stripes or Magnum 500's), the numerous underhood issues (chrome oil cap and grill brackets, generic gray parts store cap and wires, Interstate battery, etc), and the copy of a dealer add-on front spoiler. It's also missing black-out spray behind the grill, in the wheelwells, and under the rockers.

Here's a real 1969 Go-Pack interior:

Note the square woodgrain inserts in the door panels, different arm rests, correct upholstery pattern on the seats, correct steering wheel, and the hooded gauges in the waterfall on the dash.

Here's a correct 1969 343 engine bay:

This one sold for $24,200 last year at BJ Vegas: http://www.barrett-jackson.com/Events/Event/Details/1969-AMC-AMX-187440

It doesn't look like the new owner did much of anything with it. All that said, it's a nice car and easily "fixed". After confirming the VIN behind the steering box and the door tag that it's a real BBB car, you could swap the door panels and take off the Go-Pack stuff and detail out the underhood pretty easily. That would bring it from a $20-$25K car to the $30-$35K it should be.

The ground clearance on that car has to be 10" at least!
