We've watched BMW 2002 prices climb steadily over the past few years. So what classic German is next to appreciate in value? A case can definitely be made for the BMW 320i. We found a very clean 1978 320i being offered by Gateway Classic Cars for $13,595.

I looked at these when I was considering buying an E30. It seemed to me that the 320i while pretty wonderful, doesn't have the technical advances that make the E30 special. But it doesn't quite have the charm of the 2002s sheet metal and big greenhouse.

Values are clearly coming up. But it's also easy to see why these didn't come up in value as quickly as the 2002 and E30

Overpriced, what does it have over an 02? A/C, FI but no 5 speed. If you need one, 81-83 are the best years. As an owner of an 02 I get it, a more comfortable BMW.
