We’re halfway through the rally and staying in West Kelowna, British Columbia, which is a long way from our home base in Florida.

Our Shelby continues to run great with no further issues. We even got caught in traffic in 90-degree heat for nearly an hour as we waited to cross into Canada. Our car got a little warm, but we had no overheating issues.

We did get a rare treat, as fellow Shelby driver, Brad Tank, let us trade cars with him for an hour. It was a lot of fun comparing our ’67 Shelby with his pristine ’65 model.

We both came away with some impressions: He liked our big engine and power brakes, and we loved the raw feel of his earlier car. Neither of us liked the ear-splitting side exhaust of the ’65, though. That said, in short bursts, there’s hardly a better sound than a HiPo 289 at 6000 rpm.
