I've attended a couple of the mid-level events and was relieved to find that the snob factor was low. Kind of a Cars and Coffee vibe but with better curation.  At the Concorso Italiano a friend brought something of a rat Alfa, but he'd raised it from the dead (junkyard salvage), built it up and driven the heck out of it. People didn't complain that he'd taken some liberties along the way. It was a nice counterpoint to the more immaculate restorations and was taken that way.
