When it comes to rebuilding English Smiths and Lucas gauges, we have relied on Nisonger for most of our project cars. Our 1967 Austin Mini Cooper S was no exception. Peter and his crew do an excellent job of disassembling, cleaning, repairing and then calibrating these gauges.

While we haven’t gotten our Mini on the road yet, we tested the last gauge we sent Nisonger, a Triumph speedometer, with a GPS application on our phone. At a GPS varified 80 mph, that speedometer told us the car was going exactly 80 mph. That’s an accurate rebuild.

The folks at Nisonger rebuilt our original Cooper S speedometer—with fuel gauge—oil pressure gauge and temperature gauge. They also kindly found us a period correct tachometer. While tachometers were not originally installed in Minis, they were a popular period accessory.
