The day of reckoning was upon us as we got our first real look at what kind of bodywork was ahead of us for our project Lotus Elan. That day came when we got our completely media-blasted body back from Blast Masters.

The verdict: While rough, we think we can make something out of the pile of body panels we have.

The only additional damage we found hiding underneath paint and Bondo was a slight hit to the right front corner of the car. With everything blasted we are starting over again with essentially new, albeit rather rough, fiberglass body panels.

Once we find a decklid, we can begin to piece the body back together, repair the damage, and fiberglass the pieces together.

We will get more detailed once the magazine stories start later this year in Classic Motorsports magazine. To avoid missing an installment, pick up your subscription now.

I thought you had all the body parts as you bought another body?

I bought another car, sight unseen, but it turned out to be a Series 4. I will be able to get a few parts off of it.

Ah, classic error. Oh well, I'm sure someone has needs for series 4 body parts.
