I am converting my '59 Bugeye to disc brakes and can't unscrew the fulcrum pins on the old (drum) a-arms (yes, I pulled the wedge pins). On the disc a-arms the fulcrum pins unscrewed no problem. What am I missing?

Heat. And if all else fails cut the swivel off with a cutting torch.

Crap! I was hoping that I was missing a hidden roll pin or something.

Thanks tvrvixen!

New a-arms.

Those buggers rarely come out without a fight. You can try a bunch of heat, but keep in mind that the threaded inserts are brazed into the a-arm and might come out. The threads are most likely buggered anyway,

It's been wierd as the pins make about a quarter turn with no problems then stop tight. I suppose it's just the wonderful world of 40+ year old cars!
