Bought a 71 Colt new, got a job at a Dodge dealership, found out about a racing suspension kit coming .
Called Dirct Connection and ended up talking to Bob Checkley who gave me the part number of every piece needed since they hadn't bundled them under onr number yet, an hour later and 3 pages of notes ordered every piece (got a 25% discount on parts being an employee!).
The Colt mechanic offered to install the parts for free (I was earning a whole $100 per week then)!
Most memorable on the installation was the rear leaf springs (no arch while sitting on the floor) and a reverse arch when put on the car without the shocks, once the shocks (equal in size to a D 800 semi shock!) the springs returned to a 1 inch curve.
To say the car rode stiff was an understatement! Driving on metro Detroit streets caused jumps to the right on every frost heave ! Wish I still had it but...

I remember my grandparents' next-door neighbor having a Plymouth Cricket, although I think it was the Hillman version. It was red. This was a long time ago.
