I own a 1976 J72. These are really good cars - beautifully crafted and good mechanicals. The Jag XK 6 cylinder is bullet proof and can be tuned to Euro spec where legal. It's possible to get 245 hp out of this 2300 pound aluminum rocket. Great investment.

A friend owns one. The stock XJ6 engine is a tad gutless but that can be addressed if one cares.

Here is a pic of the J72, my 1957 MGA Jamaican (3.4 V6 GM engined) and my friends TR3 that he split, widened and stuck a 4 cylinder Nissan 2.4 engine in.  Obviously not a group of originality fanatics....
