We recently got a note from reader Ron Jernigan, who told us that he was part of the Mid-Atlantic Minis Club and ran a screen printing company. Working on his own Mini and other club members’ cars, he’s perfected the art of Mini heater restoration.

He purchases parts from Mini Mania to repair or replace the heater blower motor. He cleans and pressure checks the heater core. If needed, he replaces the core as well.

He then gets the housing and side panels media blasted and powder coated with a stain black finish that looks like original. Then there’s a perfected a screen printing process to duplicate the original markings on the housing that tell you how to operate the heater.

Ron charges $250 to restore the whole heater or just $65, if you just want your face and side plates powder coated and stenciled.

We sent Ron our heater, and while we haven’t tested it yet, are blown away with how it now looks. We’ll let you know more when we get the car reassembled. Find out more about Sussex Screen Printing here.
