We decided to would put our Tiger on the Auto Train to save some wear and tear and try out a fun, new experience.

This proved to be an enjoyable, first-class trip and saved us around 1800 miles of towing, as the train goes from right near our headquarters to Lorton, Virginia—only 100 miles from where the United event was being held.

Once off the train, we had no trouble finding our way to St. Michaels, Maryland, and despite some foul weather, we had no trouble running at highway speeds in our Tiger.

The event went well. The autocross, car show and crab fest were fun, and our Tiger seemed to draw a lot of comments, as most participants had seen the stories in the magazines and seemed pleased that we’d brought the car.

We had no issues other than some rain leaking into the car (welcome to Tiger ownership) and a wiper switch that seemed to have become possessed.
