The carburetors on our 1958 Tornado Typhoon needed some going through so we took them to one of the best in the business. Joe Curto is just about the most knowledgeable SU and Stromberg carb guy in the country.

Nestled away in a cool old shop in the middle of Queens, New York, Joe started as an English car mechanic and then decided to specialize in rebuilding carbs for mostly English cars.

We could have bumbled through the rebuild ourselves, but Joe knew just what we needed to take our swap meet-sourced SU carbs, clean and rebuild them, and then correctly mate them to our newly acquired Aquaplane intake manifold.

He also has every little bit of the required linkage, rebuilt parts and throttle cable connections to make this job easy.

So, we pushed the easy button this time, dropped the stuff off, took a couple of pictures and are anxiously awaiting their return.

I would send every SU carb to this guy. Unless it's for a 240Z then it goes to Ztherapy.

But all the magazine articles I've seen on this guy is impressive. Is he training future SU dudes?
