My cousin has an '03 XC70 that the dash is cutting out on. I've found a few things on the web about replacing a voltage regulator and maybe capacitors. I'm just wondering if anyone here has any experience with this issue?

It wound up being the dimmer switch (common issue on the older ones).
If that's not it, send your cousin over to Matthewsvolvosite.com they'll be able to steer them in the right direction.
