Just in: photos of the 2022 Civic Hatchback.
The other big news: available “short-throw“ six-speed manual box on Sport and Sport Touring models.
The Sport receives a naturally aspirated, 2.0-liter, four-cylinder engine that makes 158 horsepower. The Sport Touring gets a turbocharged …

Is it just me or is that a silly high roofline for a compact car. Almost small SUV-ish.
An Si version would make me consider a new car. I love the 4-door/hatch utility of the FiST and if this can deliver over 200hp/tq with a manual and a LSD it would be killer. Especially if it can fit big meats like the current cars can.

Seconding for a five-door Si.

Third-ing.
Also, I hope more European-style, lift-back sedans like this become more commonplace here in North America.

What a relief to the eye!!

A facelifted crosstour that has rear seat headroom and a manual transmission available.
I'm not even sure if I'm being complimentary or snarky? Put me in the wanting an Si camp. I want all the 5 door liftbacks. But I don't want a step back from K series power output.

what they call hatchbacks now days is very dissapointing.
I'm wondering which would be nicer to drive & own; this with the 1.5 turbo and a manual trans, or the current Mazda3 hatch with a manual trans. With the non-hot Golf's gone what else is there for small wagon or hatch with a manual that pulls between 35 and 40 mpg on the highway in 2021 or in the near future?
This also, at least in base spec, seems noticeably less costly to buy than the Mazda3 Premium whatever trim is required to get a manual trans.
Wow, interesting design. Really does look like a Crosstour. Very CUV-like in side profile. And the way the roof ends early and the angle of the rear glass... It’s not really a traditional hatch at all, more like an 80s Mazda 626 lift back.
I want to stay positive on the design though, because it’s definitely more to my liking than the last car/mess.

The corrolla wagon/hatch thing is actually a decent drive and worth cross shopping.
