It's better to buy new right now.

*Provided the dealership has new inventory in stock, w/o a $4000 "market adjustment" and depending on what you're comparing against.

Except you can't find a 200 series Land Cruiser new anymore, they stopped making them in 2021.  Lightly used 2021 Land Cruisers are selling for $105-125k, even tho they stickered at $88k.  Yeah, I'm not paying $20-35k over sticker, even though they're one of the few vehicles that just barely depreciates.  If I could find one at closer to sticker price, or even at $90-95k then it might, sorta kinda make sense.

Another car on my hit list is the new Audi A6 allroad.  It also weighs enough for me to totally depreciate in one year but it'll lose value like most Audi's, which is to say, dramatically in the first 3 years.  Well, in a typical market, who knows with what's going on now.  Even so, with the depreciation write off I'd still be in the black for the first few years.
