From what others have posted here, I get the impression A.N.C. ISN'T a bump steer dampener, but instead it works to keep the steering straight ahead when pavement "irregularities" would normally start to cause a car to move to the left or right. One example? Driving on grooved pavement wouldn't be the "fight" it is in most cars. And driving on roads that have been temporarily widened with less than perfectly smooth surfaces wouldn't be so much of a "wrestling match".

I thought it was odd that FoMoCo said they INVENTED this...."thing" on their website, but didn't really say why anyone NEEDED it. Sort of like those claims 40 years ago when car makers "removed" the vent panes from the front windows of cars and trucks. They "claimed" it was for aerodynamics.
