Dunno if this will make your nights any easier, but the SDR V-Storm seems to fit the bill nicely.

It doesn't thanks

I won't say this idea keeps me up at night, but I would love to have a blown up 3.0/5spd 2wd regular cab Ranger. With that said, remove dead lump, prolly from HG or water pump failure, and install a Taurus SHO 3.0 in it's place. On top of that, it needs some "wussy" boost, aka 5-8psi. I would be happy for awhile.....

I've had a thunderbird IRS sitting on my back porch for 6 months that I bought to toss under the wagon. I also have 2 m90's sitting in the shed, a set of 17x9" wheels...And no place to do the work. I haven't autocrossed in 3 years now. It's killing me. Stupid 8.8 killed a crapload of axles, a ring and pinion, a trak-loc carrier, and a friggin true-trac (one event took care of the true trac ) Car was stupid with the tru-track. So much more power to the ground and speed through the turns. All I need to do is widen the IRS 1.5" per side, design a new fuel tank, redesign the front suspension (keeps going out of alignment) fix the trans ( new VB) and redo the exhaust...

I left a comment in the Mercedes V12 thread about putting one into a Caprice or 1990-ish full sized truck. Haven't been able to get the idea out of my head since.

I'll add - BMW 3.0 V8 into a 2002.

This thread is insanely full of win. That Porsche 356 made me happy in ways only pretty ladies do.

  1. Turbo'd F20C and Honda 6-speed in the front of a 1g Saturn S-series, rear-drive, 17"x10" wheels, huge brakes, crazy custom suspension, roll cage, yet still street-driveable
  2. A two-door XJ with something diesel in it and crazy off-road hardware
  3. An original MS3, black, flat black Enkei RPF1s, dropped about 2 inches on coilovers, bigger turbo, loud exhaust
  4. Porsche 914 with the front half of a WRX drivetrain (I know it's been done before, but it's so damned cool)
  5. First incarnation of the CTS-V, black, supercharger, straight pipes, and drag slicks

Have fun replacing those differential housings. Better add a custom 8.8 or 9-inch to that plan, too.

i woke up yesterday thinking about a P71 CV with an LS1/T56 swap, QA1 coilovers, 17x10 diamond racing wheels and a nascar boom-tube exhaust exiting under each rear door. painted up in battleship grey with WW2 nose art on the fender. oh, and a dark tint and rhino bar on the front. i have no idea why i need it, but i want it. ever since i saw the cobra vic, i've had terrible thoughts.

more realistically, swap an EZ30R into my impreza RS with an STi 6-speed behind it, on some nice 17 inch Compomotive wheels. put some nice long tubes on the H-6 and get it to sound like this

completely unrealistically, a '63 falcon with a boosted GM 4200 I-6 out of the trailblazer on some tasty pro-touring suspension

right now, and i do mean right now as it's 1:03 AM where i live, the car keeping me awake is my wife's '03 Odyssey. At 199k miles, i'm in the middle of replacing the right-side halfshaft, the left front lower control arm, both front struts, both front wheel bearings, and both front strut mounts. so far the biggest problem i've run into is the cotter pins in the outer tie rod ends were so crapitated that they wouldn't come out, i actually had to drill them out. the whole time, all i could think was "boy, this is gonna suck if the drill bit breaks." it's all the way apart, so tomorrow morning i'll drop off the knuckles and the new bearings to have the local shop press the old stuff out and press the new stuff in. will pick them up tomorrow after work and let the reassembly game begin.

Going to be dramatically reducing my commuting distance soon, thereby reducing my need for a reliable car. I could tidy up my Saab, flick it, then buy one cheap motorcycle and one fun/"weekender"/project car. Maybe a T3 VW. I feel like I've missed out on my AC VW phase.

I am thinking an MGB with Miata suspension (v8 rear gear stuff) and one of these grafted in the nose.

I always wanted a MGB that would cruise down the road effortlessly. This combined with a 6 speed and a gear in the high 2's should suffice.

With 600ft lbs of torque, I might even be able to do a burn-out if I wanted!
