anyone know what happened to his rally escort rs cosworth?
In reply to ddavidv: Yeah, i saw it on facebook and I've been trying to dig it up since. It was a freind of a friends post. The person rally'd a focus previously.
Sheesh, coming up on 14 years since Carl passed... where has the time gone?
Glad to see someone is doing right by the car, Carl and the Escort were my favorite locals in the infancy of my rally love.
he was a true gentleman and a great ambassador to the sport.. loved to talk to him at mt washington and at the me forest rally.. i lived on the seacoast and once in a while would run into him at the fox run mall..
It won the Sandblast rally IIRC.

Confirmed
Apparently one came 2nd overall at Prescott in 2011??
It's really weird, as these are supposed to be (quite possibly) the most cantankerous rally cars EVER. You name it, it breaks, plus they overheat something fierce and are ridicular hard to find parts for.

There's currently a small turbo EsCos listed on craigslist here in Florida... asking price is in the mid-$20k territory. If it was closer to mid-teens, I'd have a new rallycross car. ;)

Ian Crerar had one here in Ontario and I can't remember if he ever finished a rally in it. Lots of DNF's. The WRC cars did well at times.
