I've only ever seen one on the Victory by Design show, but it's always stuck with me: Jaguar E-Type low drag coupe.

A car doesn't have to be some exotic to have purity of design and to be able to stand the test of time.  I like Ferraris and Duesenbergs as much as anyone, but there are some cars that were built for the common man that can also be on the list.  I'd nominate the first generation Golf/Rabbit (although as far as Civics go, I'd pick the 3rd generation models.)

Lol. Ok so “timeless beauty” might be a stretch but my opinion is that gen. Civic is the high point of modern (to me modern means post-boxy :P) economy car design.

I agree the first gen Rabbit/Golf deseves to be on this list.  I offer another Italian by the same designer.  We never got the Alfa Sud Sprint here in the US, but I wish we did.

Ford GT of course, but also this. Omg...

The E type of course. And the 904. And the 918. Which I think is one of the best looking cars out there. Something about the whole package is just right. It makes the P1 look over-busy and the laFerrari look contrived.

Oh and every Can Am car. All of them. I love them all so very much...
