2003 Frocus... SVT mildly modded, blown headgasket, 130k miles $1500

anyone ever done a headgasket on one of these? at a minimum I should be able to do the HG, hoon it a bit and double/triple my money?

Should I offer him $1000?

I wonder if it has some other problems, and the headgasket is just a convenient excuse for not taking it on a test drive. I'd offer $1000 before I'd offer $1500. But even at list price it sounds like an acceptable risk if you're going to keep it. If you're going to try an flip it, then I'd say it might not be worth the hassle.

Head gasket is easy. It's the cams and timing belt that take the most time.

I did one on a SOHC civic, and a DOHC integra... any harder than a B18?

It shouldn't be any different than a headgasket on some other twin cam 4. If you've managed to pull it off a half dozen times I'd bet you won't have any problem.

I emailed the seller about setting up a time where I can look at it.
