Started here.
Ended here. Still a disaster, but it's getting there. I did manage to get the Samurai under cover. I'll guarentee that by next week I'll be bitching about needing something I pitched in the trash.
There is a pretty good chance there will be some wheels and tires in the for sale section soon.
Anyone ever done a yard sale of shop stuff. Worth the time, or more of a PITA. I've got a ton of stuff I hate to throw out, but dealing with Craig's List idiots makes my blood boil.
In reply to Toyman01:
Sure but be prepared to deal with HARDCORE hagglers.
I don't mind the haggling. Half the stuff I might just pile on the drive way with a free sign.
Where are you? If you're close enough ill stalk your driveway. I don't think i have enough useless crap yet...
I'm in Charleston, SC. I'll be sure to let you know when I'm starting the pile.
Whats up with the slicks??
boy... I thought I had a lot of crap......
In reply to Donebrokeit:
They came with a set of 13" Panasports I picked up. Road race Hoosiers, no idea how old they are. They fit the Abominations if I ever get the fuel tank changed for track days.
In reply to oldeskewltoy:
You can't even imagine. This is just the shop. There are another two bays attached to the house with the Lemons car, and anything that wouldn't fit in here. It's next on the agenda. I want to get the E24 and the wife's car inside too.
I should probably go to counseling.
So is the rear window on the sammy even usable anymore? Because All I see is like a 3 inch strip across the top that isnt obstructed by tire and/or hi-lift.
In reply to MrChaos:
It's enough to see the traffic behind you as long as they aren't tailgating. Driving a cargo van all the time, I mostly only use side mirrors.
I feel your pain. I remember thinking that I'd have a weekend in it when I started garage hell about a month ago.
This is about a week in, after 3 Toyota truck loads and several trunk loads of crap/junk/scrap metal.
As of yesterday:
Still got a bunch of stuff piled at the front of the garage that I need to throw away.
Mmm organized-ish.
This area cries for help and keeps me awake at night.
Still got tons of crap piled up. Probably would say I'm half done.
I filled the second trailer load for the scrap yard Saturday and hauled a trailer load to the dump. I weeded my metal bin rather severely. I'm pretty sure I will regret doing that.
In reply to Richard Nixon:
Yep, and since the Roadmaster is gone, they will probably be for sale soon.
In reply to Datsun1500:
I thought about doing that, but I swear, I think it would be easier to strip the siding and insulate it from the outside.

I feel your pain. I'm moving out of state after 17 years in this house, with a 3 car garage to a house with a no car garage. It's amazing as moving day gets closer how less valuable stuff is.

Do yourself a favor and get rid of even more stuff than you're comfortable getting rid of. I went through the process a few years back and every now and then think how much easier it would have been if I had tossed about half the stuff I moved. It's tough to know what to toss but it's much better to get rid of it before the move versus after.
I wish I had a garage I could clean...

I moved two years ago after living in the last house for 26 years. I strongly recommend having a house fire and starting over.
Right on.. when I think of all the stuff I moved to only end up scrapping or tossing it later.. and all the time and headache I went through working around the stuff when it was there. Ugh, it makes me want to throw it all out now. Keep nothing but the tools. And get rid of some of those. It's a good idea.

My siblings and I have decided that when my parents keel over we're putting the house on the market with a $50k discount if you'll take it with the contents.
