I'm picking up a set of Saturn Ion Redline 6-spokes for my 9-5 (see picture below, not mine) and they have a polished finish. I've never been a fan of more than a polished lip, TBH, they look too "blingy." What's a grassroots way to achieve a more matte sheen on the wheels, short of painting them? Is there a way I could do it where the wheels could be re-polished with a little work if necessary? Suggestions!
(not a combo I would have thought of, but dang it, they look pretty good!)
Get them media blasted and powder coated? Not sure which media would give the appropriate finish, but someone on here knows and will chime in.
good looking combination of rim and car.
I think you will find that the polished rims are also clear coated. Should be a matter of roughing the surface up and putting down a semi-gloss coating

If they don't have a clear coat on them, you can do as little as use a scotch brite pad to take the shine off. You will likely want something on there though so they don't look dirty all the time.
Purple power cleaner spray one and keep it wet with more, Then hose off. Time how long from start to rinse so you can try and get same dullness on the others.
a quick dip in Lye will do it to but you got to be realy carefull as it can burn the crap out of you.
Have 'em sand blasted... they'll get a very cool, flat/matte white-ish finish. This would work especially well if you do something like sand the insets to a nice brushed finish look.
Be sure to have them clear coated in whatever shine or dullness you want. Raw, blasted aluminum attracts dirt like small children.
