I'll admit, there are many things I do not understand and BaT is one of them.  Not how the site works but rather how the site generates such prices.  

For me too, the first thing I see is the glaring passenger door gap so I guess I'll add AMC to the list of things I do not understand.  

However, it is a cool looking car and I'm sure it will exceed $20k.  I also suspect it will exceed $20k by way too much (and I don't understand why.)

At the time of this writing, the price is $13,750 with one day to go.  

The door isn't all the way closed and it has a black edge guard on it.

AMC's have a larger than normal tolerance in their panel fitments by design (because they couldn't afford to close the gaps the way the big 3 did). However they are also hugely adjustable, and if you take the time to dial everything in they can be near perfect. Most body shops don't though, and you get this mess. 

I suspect that this car, which should be over $30K as a documented 390, 4-speed, a/c car, will go for around $18K because of the awful panel gaps and the corny hood scoop. There's deals on BaT, especially when the car isn't nearly perfect.

I sold my 69 SST 290 4 speed in '93 or so for $1250. Dumb in retrospect.
