My truck has been blowing fuel pump fuses like crazy and now I know why:

That white "cap" on the top of the hanger is supposed to be tight and sealed but has corroded away allowing the terminal to move around and short out.

I've searched for a similar type of replacement terminal but have not found anything. I'm not well versed in electrical work so I can really use some advice for a proper and safe fix. This is in my Trooper that is mainly used for off-roading fun, so vibration resistance is important.

I've purchased a Walbro 255 to install and have a new wiring pigtail that is long enough to pass through the top of the hanger.

suggestions?

I hope you cut the floor in the back to get at it! Troopers have a two piece seamed tank at the bolt flange once they get rusty if you drop the tank they tend to leak at the seam afterwards...BTDT. You need a bulkhead fitting OR JB weld's "WaterWeld puddy. it is gas safe in fact you can patch a leaky tank wet! (see above) it also is an electric insulator.
