This:

fell in to my lap today. An all-original 1973 Cadillac Coupe DeVille, 1-owner, 67K original miles, 472 cubic inch V8, power everything. It has nothing wrong mechanically and one little bubble under the mint vinyl top.

What say ye?

PS - Mrs. Javelin thought it was awesome, so I already bought it...

That is awesome. I have no reasons, it will be worth every drop of gas it burns.

In reply to mr2peak:

maybe double digits. 73 should still be fairly light on the emissions equipment.

the 73 427 is rated at 375hp and 365 ft lbs. It weighs 5250 lbs.

it also needs some long horns for the hood.

Is your driveway long enough to dock it?

My dad had a '73 Fleetwood when I was a kid. It will always be one of my favorites of all time. I LOVE that car!

it's already puke green- there is no way to make it more perfect than it already is.. just drive the thing and enjoy gas mileage that will likely be on par with the average new half ton 4X4 pickup truck...

Not a 500.

But seriously, just do it, and always refer to it as "My Cadillac car".

This is a Caddy, not an Impala. Decorum must be observed.

And a Chevy engine? Really? Why would you do that?

Don't overlook its distinguished racing heritage: a car substantially identical to that one, except a 71 or 72 (I forget which), won one of the early Cannonball Baker NY-LA events. "Standard of the World" isn't just marketing hype, y'know.

Drove one of those when I was in HS. We called it "Battlestar Cadillactica". Today's generation will never know a better form of transportation to sex-ed and concerts. Some fun E36 M3 took place in that car.

And just so you know, they WILL drift.

the only reason I can think of NOT to, and it's too late for that, is so I could have it.

Nice road flattener!
