Saw this at the dealer last week.

My parts guy said he was surprised it was still there.  The first two they got in sold instantly.

56K sticker price.

I prefer buying my BMWs from the BMW dealer.

We have one in the showroom right now, already sold "don't touch, SOLD" signs all over it. Something like 65k.

And then you can dump it on someone else when the BMW maintenance starts.

If I had 60 large (I don't), it would be used to purchase:

I read that as stacks of fries.

Nice to see the anti - BMW sentiment in this thread, it's been a long time coming. Still very curious how this whole BMW/Toyota thing is going to work out

Why would you pay over MSRP when there are literally DOZEN's of Supra's across the country selling for between $3-5k under MSRP?

You can tell from the black mirrors it isn't a Launch Edition. Those are the only ones dealers are trying to sell for above MSRP.

I think it is disappointment with Toyota selling out there iconic Supra name to a re badged BMW instead of coming up with something that is from Toyota that in theory has some of the original Supra DNA.

It kind of cements the comments I have seen that Toyota no longer knows how to engineer a fun car as they have been making plain vanilla for so long that those engineers have all retired. There cars have lost the identity that was unique to Toyota cars of the 90s.

I really think that is what the hate is about.

There is a carbon fiber mirror cover accessory that can be factory optioned when ordering. Silly money IIRC. But yeah, way over MSRP and both the ones we've had were sold to folks from a state away.

This car is ugly and expensive. Pass. The dealers won't sell many past the initial launch.

I do but it's not going for a Supra.

Rebadge a Chrysler minivan as a VW. Put Infinity badges on a Pathfinder, ok.

But a BMW Supra? Heresy. Shame on you Toyota.

Hey wait, is Japan and Germany teaming up for something bigger? Was Ferrari or Maserati involved in this project too?

The original is overrated by the F&F crowd.

And the engineers on the project for Toyota said they wouldn't have been able to make it profitable if they had developed everything on their own.

I agree.  I'd never seen one in person until yesterday but here at SEMA they are everywhere and they look much better in person than pictures.  Having owned a Z4M coupe I can see the family resemblance too.

3rd. I wasn't really a fan of the looks via a screen, but I was at the track a few weeks ago and there was one there and it's quite attractive in the flesh.  Unfortunately, I didn't get out on track with it at all so I didn't get to see what it could do.  I'm assuming a lot more than my Spec Miata, though!

I have 60 large but that is no where even on my list of possible ways to spend it. The styling is off and the BMW drivetrain just will make me run for the hills. I've done my time with BMW Cars and it's an experience I don't care to repeat.

Now something from Motorrad....different story :)

I actually like the looks of  the exterior.  Interior is all BMW, and does nothing for me as I find pretty much all BMW interiors a bit.....meh.

Mk IV Supra wasn't that amazing of a performer stock, but you couldn't kill it. Bulletproof engine, and drivelines which easily shrugged off more boost.   This one.....yet to be seen, but I expect typical BMW oil leaks and high pressure fuel pump failures. Having wrenched on cas for years, German makes are probably forever tarnished with poor reliability from my perspective.

That Toyota, for all their piles of cash and engineering skill chose to farm out such a iconic name really turns me off to the car as well.  Like Chevy having Kia build the Corvette for them.

In the end though, I don't have 55k+ sitting around for a car anyway, so Toyota (or BMW?) rightfully, don't care what my opinion is.
