I also might consider hacking an engine hoist with a pulley/cable.

I had dreams of doing that on an F550.  Mount the whole thing on some beefy unit wheel bearings in a tube so it can swing.  Cable through a pulley at the end.  Hook cable to an engine, hoist, swing, drop.

I DO have a giant cylinder for sale! I just have no idea how much it's worth. I really need to sell off a bunch of this to try to make this project not as dumb financially.

I was just looking at an old Ford Ramp truck and noticed it looked like the bed tilted in addition to having bi fold ramps on the back. Made me think that the ramps get put down, bed tilted up results in a near flat drive onto the ramps. Then tilt bed down which lifts the ramps and car while leveling out the approach angle to the deck. Then drive on the rest of the way. Would be perfect for low/aero heavy cars where splitters and bumpers wouldn't need removal to load.

Just another idea.
