Anyone have pictures or tips on making a homeade bumpsteer gauge?  I know I could just buy one but nobody wants to barter with the fresh walnuts I have in the back yard.

It has been a few years since I did that. I  taped a pen to the brake rotor and a sheet of paper to a box.  Moving the suspension through its range of motion (with the spring removed) gave me an arc and I played around until I had a smaller arc. I never did get a straight line because it was a Triumph.

I've done it with a piece of plywood, a bolt  and a dial indicator. The bolt leaned on one side of the wheel, the dial indicator on the other. Got me a list of numbers but no cool squiggly lines :)

Its been a few years, I'll see if I can find pics.

Here we go. Car had no springs, I jacked it up and down if memory serves. Light car :)
