We have unearthed some historical documents! We found the window stickers for our 1990 A-package and our 1995 M Edition Miatas while cleaning out an office. Let's have a look.

First up is the sticker for our pimped-out 2019 RF GT-S. This is pretty much the full boat, with all the mod cons, Club suspension and the like. $34,095 MSRP.

Here's the sticker for our 1990. The Miata was first sold to the public in summer 1989 and was notoriously sold over sticker. But even looking at sticker, this A package - which adds power steering, a radio and alloy wheels as well as the side options of AC and an LSD - was $32,341.51 in 2019 dollars. The base 1990 model came to $27,990 and you had to buy your own kazoo for music. The price of a 2019 Sport ragtop? $25,730.

The 30th Anniversay special edition is limited to 500 units in the US, and MSRP is $35,915 for the ragtop. The 1995 M edition had a special color, special wheels, special seats and an LSD. Sounds familiar, although I believe there were 3500 in the US. Here's the sticker. That's $38,837 in current dollars. We also got a hardtop with it but that's unfortunately not on the sticker.

Obviously, the feature levels of the cars have gone up dramatically as has the safety. Emissions have dropped like a rock. But actual EPA mileage? Not that much change over the years, although in the real world the ND is far more frugal.

On the 90s widow sticker I got a giggle out of the Liters to Cubes.

On the price note, I dont think there is much better of a car for the money still.

Interesting to see. I have to pull up my 1995R Miata sticker when I get home.

I know for my 2004MSM, I paid $18,000 brand new. Sticker was $27000. They couldn't move it.

My wife's NC2 sticker was $31000. We paid $23,000 new at end of year blow out sale.

My sticker for my 1994 MR2 is $32,486, which is $55,000 today.
