I stumbled onto one locally that is for sale dirt cheap. I find it intriguing but, I've owned rare, worthless cars before and I don't want yet another un-sellable project taking up space and waiting to gobble up time and money.
Basically, my question is; Is anyone here looking for a nice, stock '78 Celica liftback with a slushbox?
:)

I’ve seen people trying to offload these on Craigslist for years. They always start out optimistic.”for sale- RARE! ‘78 celica. Low miles only 140,000!!!!1!! Automatic transmission. $4,000.00 no low ballers, don’t scam, I know what I got”
give it a month, it’s down to 3500, six months later it’s at 2,000, a year later it’s $1,500, and it’s sold. They are $1500 cars all day as long as they aren’t the first gen. Those go for more.
The automatic is nearly the same as the a340e that came behind the Lexus v8’s... just saying.

If it was a year older, yeah, there'd be demand for it. People want the '70-'77 classic mini-Mustang body ones. The second-gens don't elicit the same sort of love. Likely because they are a bit on the ugly side.

Thanks.
Off to post it in the FB Marketplace thread.
