Washer fluid pump on my '13 Elantra seems to have given up the ghost. Part is dirt cheap, fantastic. I'm not much of a mechanic, but this job doesn't scare me from a nuts and bolts perspective. Seems quite easy. But in taking a 5 second glance under the hood, it seems like a royal PITA to access the pump....I can't even see the washer bottle, just the neck. Is there a tip to doing this, or do I have to take half of the front of the car off to get to it?

I'll bet the whole nose cone bumper has to come off. Tons of plastic clips too.

Depending on where the bottle sits and where on the bottle the pump is, you might be able to just pull a wheel well liner and access it that way. But I don't know that car well enough to confirm.

Before you pull the OEM pump, look at universal replacement kits. In one car I had, the pump was a massive, mechanical affair that cost $250 and 4 hours to replace. But I bought a small universal replacement pump for $20 and it worked better than OEM and lasted for 5 years until I sold the car. You bolt it to the firewall, tap into the hoses and electrical lines, and presto. Done.

You probably take a wheel off, peel back a fender liner and drop it out the bottom.

+1 for it being accessible from the wheel well. You just pull the wheel remove the front clips on the liner and there it is.

It's behind the passenger headlight. When I Googled a replacement pump, the part is cheap and it appears to attach to the bottom of the bottle.

I don't want to get into messing with electrical, etc... Would rather just pop the old one out and put a factory replacement (aftermarket) in.

Given you still live in Dallas GA the West Georgia Public Library has a Chilton Manual for 98 to 13 Hyundai Elantras and it may give you the procedure.

Yeah, I saw that YouTube video, but my car is different, so not sure it'll apply. Couldn't find one for my generation. I'll pull the tire off and peek back there. Given where the pump is and hit it appears to be oriented (at least from the above photo), perhaps it will be accessible from there...at least I hope.
