So I scrapped my rotted out 1994 Mercury Capri XR2 project

And in less than 24hrs couldn't pass up an opportunity to drag home the car pictured here on the left:

I finally get to add a bit of merit to using the handle "shelbyz" on various forums and such for the last 15 years...

It's a 1991 Dodge Spirit R/T.

The good news is that it's rust free with (from a quick glance underneath w/ a flashlight) remarkably clean floors for a K based Chrysler, only 76k and came loaded with spare parts. Also has some mild performance goodies installed.

The bad news however, is that the last time it had fresh gas put in the tank was March of 2005 as it's been sitting in various places for the last almost 12 years. At some point during that time frame, the IC and it's plumbing were removed. The puzzle here is that the IC/Rad combo was replaced with a full radiator with a different IC infront of it. The car came with various IC's and plumbing, so I just need to figure out what fits where. It also needs a few electrical gremlins and mechanical bits sorted out.

All that being said, the car fires right up and putzes around just fine. Once it gets freshened up and sees a good detail, should be a good looking and fun to drive example. I will post some better pics when I get some. Might even make a project log.

Turbo Mopar and a DSM, you have an incredibly understanding significant other.

I have a Miata, a BMW, and a DSM... The wife doesnt know about the BMW. However, a turbo Dodge would be a bridge too far.

Not pictured is the various other "projects"... A Cobalt SS/SC with a windowed oil pan, a V6 Dakota with trans issues waiting for a 318 and a fresh trans, and SWMBO's POS former DD Jeep Patriot, that is such a pile it was hastily replaced rather than repaired.

In reply to NordicSaab:

Only the DSM is the problem child of that trio, and a single problem child can get a pass. Shelbyz on the other hand has a garage and parking pad that's like the island of misfit toys.

Oddly enough, the DSM seems to be the most reliable of the hodge podge... Even my 2008 Honda Fit has nickle and dimed me more the past couple of years...
