I figured since 2020 was the first time I completed a model in many years, I would post a little compilation of all the ones I got done. It turns out it was also probably the most models I've ever completed in one year. Some were started years ago, others just this year, and a few were rebuilds. Some came out great, some slightly underwhelming. Some snap kits, even one HO scale, but mostly glue kits.

I also started plenty that didn't get finished, just in case you thought I was totally rid of my procrastinating ways.

Check eBay for similar?

Search them on eBay, but then select "Sold Items" to know what they sold for instead of asking prices. Remember that eBay keeps 10%.

I got 12 completions for the year. Five were previous start ups. Most importantly, all but three were only completed because of this forum and the continuing monthly "competitions". Thanks guys!

Wasn't quite sure where to leave this, so here seemed like a good place.  Am I the only one who didn't know this existed?

What year was the Olds kit released? I have not yet seen a built one.

Not sure.  I just saw it on FB marketplace.  I looked for an 80's Cutlass for several years when I was in HS and could never find one that wasn't either clapped out or out of my price range, so I sort of have a soft spot for them.

Here's the listing: https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/1325230977811165/?ref=browse_tab&referral_code=undefined

Looks like reviews on the kit started around 2018.

Opinions please. I might pick up one of these portable rechargeable air brush and compressors.

While my builds in the monthly theme threads haven't been going so well, I've been knocking out some side projects. First, this Ford Escort that I bought cheap and it turned out to be a mess. The body was severely cracked and actually split in half while I was trying to repair it. Even after putting it back together, it kept separating slightly. The firewall was completely gone, and the wheel wells had been hacked out of the chassis as if someone was going to make a tubbed drag racer.

Since life gave me lemons, I made a Lemons racer with a RWD conversion. Parts box suspension, a Miata engine, home made roll cage that will surely fail tech, and a bad parody theme. The bad paint is actually realistic for a car of this ilk. The engine sits far forward enough to hit the radiator fan, so I moved the whole radiator off to the left about a foot. That's why the left headlight is absent.

Along with that, I also wrapped up a long-stalled build of a Turbo Coupe. Basically stock, but I lost two of the wheels, the mirrors, and the steering wheel somewhere. So it's got drag slicks and wheels from a Revell Mustang, a steering wheel from a newer Thunderbird, and a lack of mirrors. Since turbo boost can't be modeled, we'll say it's just a little faster than stock. wink

After that? Finish the February and March builds, and build a few hot rods. And then I swear I'm going to get the transporter truck done.

It's been a bit since the last forum build, so I'll post some stuff here. I already posted this in one of the threads, but I'm really happy with this Thunderbird.

I'm close to wrapping up this 65 Fairlane dirt racer. Just need to carve treads in the rear tires to match the front, slap a few parts on, and add numbers.

I'm kinda stockpiling Mustang kits. I'm not hoarding I swear!

One came with custom wheels. Cool!

But they don't really look like the box art. I happen to have some Viper wheels. Let's use those instead!

I also have a Ford Sierra to build. And a half-complete Sierra Cosworth kit, missing the body. Guess what? They share a base tool, so the chassis and interior parts are very nearly the same, but modified for racing in the Cosworth's case.  Stripped interior, lowered suspension, etc. So I'm going to build a modified version of the road car, because that's what I have the body for. And the engine. The race car is curbside so it just has the bottom half, but the road car has an opening hood and a fully-modeled engine. Sweet! Also probably going with the wheels from a WRC Celica, just because.

I uh, still need to finish those hot rods. Lost some of the parts. Oops.

I built that recently too. Now I regret making it "showroom new"frown Trouble is every one I have ever seen a picture of, or seen in person, has been a show piece, not a work horse.
