I am taking my sons to Monster Jam tomorrow. We went a few years ago. It was an absolute blast!
Remember the ear muffs. I've been to the Houston one with the kids a couple of times. One of the earlier ones had the 60 foot tall flame shooting robotic dinasaur that ripped cars in half. It was pretty cool. I love monster trucks.

Truckasarus rules!!
Have fun there - I wish I could go today. Watching a truck leap that high in the air is just unreal. Last time I went, I brought an SLR with a telephoto lens; managed to get some good shots:

What a GREAT time that was! Those folks are at 10.5 tenths a lot of the time. Now one of my favorite motorsports.
the people that wonder why NASCAR and NHRA events aren't selling out should go to one of these shows... they will see 40,000+ screaming kids that can't get enough of it and get their parents to buy all the merchandise.. when those kids get older, they get into things like rally racing, stadium trucks, and motocross..
as much as i love me some NASCAR, i understand why people under 25 don't care about it- they grew up watching monster trucks smash cars and get huge air in football stadiums..
TRUCKASAURUS! TRUCKASAURUS! TRUCKASAURUS!!!
BE THERE BE THERE BE THERE!!!!
Thank you for reminding me that this exists. Is it somewhat family-friendly?
Poop... Monster jam is the most family friendly thing ever. They cater to kids. Superhero trucks... Dog themed trucks... There's a Scooby do truck. I freaking love monster truck racing... My kid loves watching it. We unfortunately just lost our stadium for it so I have no idea when I'll get another live event.
100% absolutely completely totally family friendly. The drivers are soooo accessible, to the point of bringing parts of their broken vehicles into the stands and giving them to kids. Hearing protection is mandatory. I am still marveling at the performance of Maximum Destruction. He just completely shredded his truck. Wild!

I meant the crowd. Obviously "Wraslin" was once a "marketed to kids" thing too, but as far as I can tell, it's a single-digit-IQ drunktard crowd now.
They came to the Charleston Colosseum once. Awesome trucks, but the stadium is just too small. I keep wanting to take my boys to see them in Jacksonville, Fla.
Runs off to check the Monster Jam website...
Crap, that's Feb 22 and we have a novice school.

The crowd is totally legit. Kid centric the whole way. I'd take my kid in a second.

That's Tom Meents for ya. Even if he's not the driver of Max-D that night, his whole slew of drivers is basically under no illusion that they need to keep the truck in one piece. Between him and Dennis Anderson (of Gravedigger fame) they will shred their trucks each and every time.

Awesome. Will do. Kiddo was unimpressed when she watched daddy race at road atlanta. Maybe I'll disappear when truckasaurus comes out and convince her I was driving My grandpa had my brothers convinced he played for the Cincinnati Reds...until long after he died. Lolz. RIP, Grandpa White.

There's even several female drivers now... Nicole Johnson in Scooby do.... Madusa (the former WWF wrestler) in madusa, I forget her name, but the driver of monster mutt dalmatian. And you can meet the drivers beforehand and check out the trucks... Get pics... Its worthy. Plus monster trucks are wicked cool up close.
