Ever since we launched our new digital subscription service, GRM+, we've been thinking of what else we could do with it. Every discussion always came back to one point: We should use what we'd built to give more content to more people more quickly.

We're one of the few automotive publications that invests the time and money required to write real stories. Anybody in a basement can regurgitate press releases for clicks. But it takes a team, travel and track time to constantly test the latest tires, build winning project cars and feature some of the coolest amateur race cars all over the country.

We think it's understandable that we've reserved these stories for the print edition of Grassroots Motorsports. When we invest thousands of dollars and hundreds of hours in a story, economic realities dictate that it can't be given away for free online unless the current digital advertising model fundamentally changes. That may happen some day, but we're not holding our breath.

So we took matters into our own hands. GRM+ has provided sustainable, user-driven revenue for online content, so we're proud to announce a new feature for all current and future GRM+ subscribers: Member-only content available right here on GrassrootsMotorsports.com. You'll be able to read the same top-shelf tire tests, project cars, features and more that you'd normally find in the print magazine. And as GRM+ grows, we'll be using it to make even more of the top-shelf content we're known for.

Of course, we can't forget where we came from, either: This company was started in a dirt-floored garage with a rusty Ranchero driving copies to the post office, and we want enthusiasts from all walks of life to be able to read Grassroots Motorsports. That's why, whenever possible, we'll offer our content for free after a waiting period. So while those who don't subscribe to GRM+ won't be able to read the new tire test the day it's released, they will be able to read it for free a few months later. We're hoping this compromise allows us to keep making great stories without preventing the next generation of enthusiasts from finding them.

Soon you'll start seeing the GRM+ lock on certain stories. If you're a GRM+ member, we'd highly recommend checking these pieces of premium content out. And if you're not a GRM+ member, maybe this is the time to become one.

GRM+ costs $3 per month or $30 per year, and you can click here to start your subscription.

Note: Current print or digital magazine subscribers will also automatically gain access to GRM+ exclusives once they've linked their account in their online dashboard.

Hah, sorry about that. That's a screenshot from our staging server, which mostly has a collection of random old content. But that story is available here:
