It looks like they wanted to go cyberpunk, but didn't have the fortitude to commit to it and kept some softer styling cues leading to a disjointed mess that lacks direction.

FWIW, if not for the V8 being in the F150, the Mustang would not have a V8. Even so,  the take rate for F150 v8s is low enough to make it really tough to justify it. 

Because the 3.5 is optional. Optional means MSRP $, which gives dealers extra $. And dealers don't give out there exclusively limited ordering slots either. They pretty much get what ford gives them to sell.

Back in 2011, I really expected the v6 to be a minor player, but the customers really did choose the turbo for some reason. 

From what I've seen of the styling I like it. Will need to see it in person to confirm for sure.

The interior is typical digital disaster, hello distracted driving! 

Whats this I'm hearing about no manual transmission for the 4 cly? Stupid if true.  Also disappointed that the V6 is still absent.

I don't dislike the looks, but it seems a bit like one of those reproduction muscle cars like the Equis that blends all the styles from different cars. A dash too much Camaro? I bet it will be fine in real life. 

F**k the giant screen for displays.  It looks awful and that's way more digital controls than I want to deal with - or that's safe.  

Exterior design - the middle is fine but I don't like the front and back of the car.

All the track and motorsports options is pretty damn cool.  I wish other manufacturers would do that. 

Wait... It's not electric and it has a manual 6 speed? What's not to like?

Aesthetically, they screwed the pooch IMO. Functionally it shows promise. 

i dig it, mostly.  my biggest complaint, as with most modern cars, is touchscreens.  they don't belong in the front seat.

Other than that, it looks like a pretty basic refresh. The basic shape hasn't really changed since it went retro in '02-everything after that has been an evolution. 

I've not been paying a lot of attention to the pony car offerings and thus thought the next Mustang was the EV SUV, so this caught me off guard.  The picture of the green one posted by Adrian Thompson looks pretty good, other photos look questionable at best.  "Mustang Dark Horse comes standard with a unique six-speed TREMEC manual transmission..." Has Ford ever solved their manual transmission problems?  It seems that every V8 Mustang from around 2000 forward with a Tremec has had issues with the manual transmissions.

This gen's nite pony into next gen's dark horse, Ford is loving their pokemon evolutions. That drift handle is wack. Otherwise, lookin' good! Just sad there won't be a Camaro to compete.
