Har har har! Yes, I know that sounds dirty. Moving on. I have not had it act iup lately, but at one point I was getting a lot of oil on the upper part of the dipstick. I would wipe it all off and then put it back inside the tube, and then pull it back out and take a fresh reading of the oil level just like normal. Should this be anything to be concerned about? Like I said, it has not done it for a few weeks. But it would even be way up on the stick after the car has sat for a week....
Check your crankcase venting.

Are you storing the car upside down? Or in earthquakes?

I checked that and it appears to be working. It’s a Miata, so not much of a PCV system there. I replaced the cracked plastic tube a while back. And while the check valve was out I cleaned it out and blew through it. It appears alright, but hasn’t been changed (ever, it’s @220k). So that’s probably due.
Is it a Nissan 3.5? You generally have to wait for tomorrow morning to get a clean reading on them.
