I have an 09 P71 and due to my carelessness I have wound up with 2 of the 4 TPM sensors missing (I swapped out wheels and didn't notice that the "new" wheels were missing all the sensor hardware).
This car has the sensors located on a band inside the wheel. Sensors and bands are not easy to come by on the aftermarket (unless someone knows of a source) and the dealer wants $175/wheel plus labor.
My question: can a cheaper/more common sensor be easily substituted?
I want to fix up this car and will either sell or donate it to a charity.

Appears you can use the valve stem ones. AFAIK, 315 MHz sensors are all compatible. Hopefully someone who knows better than I do will chime in shortly.
In reply to Cactus :
When you go to Tire Racks website they show the valve stem sensors, too.
I have found only 1 website that shows the factory TPMS hardware, but it isn't cheap, and I am not crazy about buying parts and taking them to a tire store for installing.
