I have always wanted to build a Mitsubishi Zero replica. I think it, the FW-190, and the Spitfire are my favorite aircraft of that era. With a special nod to the Mosquito.

I hope Mitsubishi finds a partner to link up with for US sales. Toyota owns a lot of Subaru maybe Honda or Nissan will gobble up Mitsubishi.

Love my Evo but everytime I go to a dealer they seem sooooo sad.

I have seen a real A6M Zero on the ramp at the Santa Monica airport. I was very impressed, it looked more like a sport/aerobatic airplane than most WWII fighters. It is about the size of a Beechcraft Bonanza 36.

I saw a bunch of these buzzing around when I was in the Caribbean. They look great on paper. Saw a dealership and they were about $38k USD, which is why they won't sell here. Same with that VW truckish thing that was going around a while back. Murica has the capable truck market locked down. That just means you end up with an extra 20% footprint for the given capacity of the truck.

I have a little different view of Mitsubishi, seeing as I lived in the town where they make them for 6 years, and now live 45 miles away--but still work where they make them.

Around here I see the vehicles quite a bit, for obvious reasons. They aren't bad cars... if this was 2005. Even with the warranty, there is no reason to look at Mitsu over Kia. The only reason is if you have a 15ish mile commute--I could get a lease on the iMiev for $169 a month with 0 down, or $99 a month with $1800ish down. At that point it makes sense as a city commute car.

The problem is that while you're getting a $15,000 brand new car that does everything it needs to (remember that this vehicle is for commuting only), for only 5-6k more, I could have gotten a brand new, 1 year old Volt.

They still have a chance to survive--basically, make a Volt--but I'm not seeing that they'll take advantage of it.

What was a comparable Hilux, and any American trucks? That number really doesn't help me--a Miata in Canada would cost about $40k USD, but that isn't what we pay here.

They have a guy who was never involved with cars running the autmotive side of Mitsubishi. It's evident.

Its also a fully electric car with a warranty for $15000.

Ive driven one. The interior is about the same quality as a mirage.

The Mighy Max (and it's Dodge twin) were tough little trucks.

My friends dad dropped a HUGE pine on the roof while he was sitting in it.

After he squeezed out of what was left of the cab, they used a Hi-Lift to jack the cab back up and kept driving it.

iMev to me is just an extension of the Gem. I have no clue if there is a connection but given Gem was a spin off of Chrysler (before it went to Polaris) it wouldn't surprise me.

They're looking for things to complain about. There are a lot of things to complain about for a vehicle at that pricepoint. Is the interior nice? No. It is spartan and it works, which is all it needs to do.

If I had a 30-40 mile round trip commute every day, I would probably own one (or lease one) as I would actually save money on gas. And yes, I have run the numbers--it should also be noted that because of where I live you can get ridiculous deals on them. But my commute is 80 miles round trip.

And again, the other problem is the Volt. Earlier in the year I negotiated an out the door price on a brand new Volt (MY 2013) to $22k. THAT is an incredible deal for a new car.

So they decided to take up where Hyundai left off after the Korean Manufacturer decided to build reliable and high quality products?

Well, People here hate on the company that brought us the GTO, Corvette, Camaro/Nova/Chevelle SS...people here will hate on anything lol. But its the same problem that people have with GM(just a few decades later) - they had a great reputation in the enthusiast community, but got...I dunno...complacent? Lazy? Its like, one day, Mitsu HQ just stopped having any interest in performance cars. They build appliances now - AC units, TVs, and commuter dregs. They really dont offer anything...ANYTHING that holds my interest. At all...regardless of pricepoint.

There's a dealer near me that opened in a buy here pay here lot and aside from a sign you'd never know it changed.
