I have a standard amount of thumbs and once made my way across the street unescorted. But that %$#@XC90 is going to keill me. The headlight washer covers of course fell of. I cheaped a set of amazon Chinese ones and could not make them fit period. OKfine so now went up to the $32 pair. No amount of finger pinching, shoving or partial disassembly will make these fit either. Volvo ones are at least $15 deeper than that. Is there a secret password that one of you can share or do I just need the factory part?

Why would you buy a non- factory part for a Volvo?  There aren't enough of them around for the parts to be profitable to reproduce well.

Will they not stay on the spout, not come out, or not close?  You have the metal hairpin?  I've never had anyt more than the normal amount of finger stress holding the spout out while I stick the cover on.  I have had to do a wee bit of bumper trimming to get them to come out properly.

Don't know whether I've ever seen any come off in a non-collision situation.

Thank you for posting! We are in Georgia and Volvo plastic gets brittle here. Both covers came off within weeks of each other during hand car washes. There is a plastic diamond shaped dohickie with two points for mounting to the metal washer parts inside the bumper and two points for the covers. Cannot force the covers on far enough for the mounting tabs to engage the covers.

have you considered that the reason the covers came off in the first place was that something beneath them forced them off and is keeping you from putting the new ones on?
