Painted the winch mount for my jeep
bought some nuts and bolts to hold the master cylinders to the brake assembly while i build a a mounting bracket to hook it to the chassis. Nuts were right diameter, wrong thread. Annoyed, didn't go back. will try again tomorrow
Tuesday I picked up a cheap intercooler, piping and BOV for my Challenge car. Today I'm getting a full set of SRT-4 struts with Eibach springs for $100! Cheap suspension here we come.
Funday Sunday. Spent ~5 hrs with wae removing tires from those MR2 wheels I bought, and the one damaged wheel I recovered from the highway loss to salvage the tire. I think he did 97.24% of the work, but I was still tired last night. And was my xB full for the drive home! 8 wheels, 8 tires...
I only have Sunday off and it's rained the past two weeks. I got the heads back for the 4x4 dakota going on 3 weeks ago, still no work done. The Van is patiently waiting probably until winter.
I made a temporary mounting bracket for the brake assembly in the datsun. Dad then came over to test the pedal position.
Detailed the Mustang Friday and Saturday, drove it to work Sunday night.... of course it's pouring down rain Monday morning for the drive home.
Went to the shop on Sunday, and stared at the turbo Miata while I drank a couple beers.
Then, my new x1/9 Challenge car arrived, so we got that unloaded and pushed into the shop. Thanx, Sean!!!
Then, I stared at the Fiat while I drank a couple beers.
Challenge this year Will?
I have finally passed the point where I can't lay down without nausea so I swapped the W124 trans today. Finish buttoning it up tonight I hope. Also swapped some wheels around on the five and possibly made a trade for another diesel caddy.
yesterday, tightened the alt belt the daily, and modded the air intake tract. today, nothing. came home from work with flu-like symptoms.
tomorrow aint looking good either.
but I heard from the body shop on the elky: whever primed it with epoxy primer last laid it on over 1/4 inch thick in places. right over top of surface rust.

I was going to do LCA bushings on my B4 passat, but some yahoo put an oil pan in the way of one of the main pivot bolts. So that was a no go.
Then I looked into changing out the thermostat. Apparently VW decided to build the VR6 around it and it only requires you to remove everything in the immediate area. So that was also a no go.
So I put a new temp sensor in it. The gauge reads a little higher now, as I expected it would after ohming the old sensor out last week. Looks like the thermostat is failed partially open.
Looking forward to not having to deal with the VRs bullE36 M3 anymore.
I started the F100 and drove it to my neighbors and we had a light hearted argument about me ruining my truck from how the deceased original owner had it (he was both of our friends)
So I opened up the electric header cutouts and played all the way home.
Then I found massive amounts of bondo over rust on the Met. I cried a little bit on the inside.... Ground it all out with a flap disc and quit. At least now I know how much welding and lead I filling I have on the rear of the car. One spot the size of a piece of paper. One the size of a sticky note and about 6 pencil sized holes littered about the body.
Friday night, the ms3 got a new battery. Saturday, I decided I didn't hate working on the MINI any more, I just needed a 4 post lift, air, a nicely lit pole barn with fresh concrete floors, and a good friend with a beer fridge. Oh, and a random guy named Jonathan that came over, saw what was going on, and jumped in without even asking, or being asked. That was awesome. Turns out he was a BMW tech- or still is, and the MINI shares a lot with an E30, so he was right at home.
Tonight I removed the front suspension & steering linkage from my Firebird. Some might think I'm nuts for disassembling a perfectly good car and stripping the unibody to bare metal and rebuilding but I'm sure you guys will approve.

The Crusty Chevy gave up its guts today.
Pleased to find the engine is a 3970010 block (I was expecting it to be). Surprised to find how little effort it took to turn the engine over by hand to unbolt the torque convertor. Took me 2 hours to pull, which I guess isn’t bad since I’m rusty, old, and feeble.
Question is, do I want to clean all this up? I mean, it’s just going to get dirty again….
built shelves and did general garage organizing. i still need to do more. the current project IS the garage so i can actually start building stuff again. nothing has rolled into or out of the garage for 3 years.
i put the bike on the back burner and hung it from the rafters. so i have a 920 yamaha hanging up in the back corner of the garage. the HF winch did a nice job.
Put a new battery in the E30... again... mental note... if you don't drive an E30 for 5 months, something in it kills the battery so bad it won't hold a charge... doesn't seem to bother my LBC's so much...
Another hour or so of fiberglass insulation in the garage. The long wall's about half done. After that, there's a much shorter wall with a door, then I get to stand in the fiberglass rain while I do the ceiling... Hoping I get faster at this before it's over...
But we're getting so close to done...

There is a steady small (mv) draw from some of the radio and clock stuff that stays live. Pull the negative or put a trickle charger on it if you plan to park it for that long.
Completely destroyed my kitchen sink... I need to go buy a lot of parts.... Then went back into work. Then came home and read GRM and am going to bed without a single garage door being opened
