What scan tool do we like specifically for GM garbage?  I have a 2003 Yukon Denali, 2003 Saab 9-5 Linear and a 2011 Escalade ESV.  GM Tech II is probably the right choice for the Yukon and Saab but will it work well enough with the BCM and higher level CAN stuff on the Escalade?  I have a "Service Suspension" error on the Escalade I have been guessing at for awhile now but would like to spend some money on the right tool for the job for all 3 vehicles.

Are the chinesium Tech II clones still a good option or is there a better tool out there for under $500?

I was hoping this would attract the attention of NickD, Pete or any of the other very knowledgeable service techs on the forum.

08(?) model year forced mdi to be used... if it was a simple check engine light you still could use a simple code reader... anything more in depth requires mdi.
