I have to admit, other than the door panels this is surprisingly well done. It would obviously need glass and a top to be really useful, but I say forget that and swap an XJ 4.0L/4x4 setup into it and rebrand the whole car as a "GRM Trifecta".

I don't hate it. That would be a fun car to cruise down the shore.

Would it look better or worse if it was still a four door?

In reply to patgizz:

Agree.
And to think, Ford gave us the Thunderbird / Cougar. I think the Crown Vic coupe and convertible could have been a smarter choice.

It looks pretty good, but "The car has no actual convertible top or door side glass." Don't take it out of the garage if it looks like rain.

I also really like his front grill which matches the much newer Ford style like found on Fusion and Edge.
Tail lamps look good too, continuing the theme of the grill.

Seems like this would have been a great idea for an actual police cruiser - who wouldn't want to go for a ride in a convertible???

Both pieces are OE Ford pieces on CV's exported to the middle east.

I really don't mind it as much as I thought i would from the sound of it, but I do wish it had a functional soft top. That would take this project over the top for me.

That is surprisingly well done. I think it is worth the asking price.

That is wonderful.

Too bad that there is no top--maybe a tonneau cover would be the way to proceed with it.

Also adding to this, a 1999 Grand Marquis wagon (using components from a Sable wagon) has surfaced for sale and it is awesome, although this one could use a little TLC. Mmmmm, woodgrain.

Close enough for a P71/XJ mashup, so it needs a Miata motor swap.
