The most (and least) I have paid for a car is $1000. Granted, it is my first car, but I want to know how thrifty, or spendy you have been.

I have a 2004 Malibu I got for free from my Grandmother when she stopped driving.. that was the cheapest as it did not need more than Tax paid and gas.

Most expensive was the Hyundai Tiburon I bought new in 1999.. $16,000

The least was this 2001 BMW 525i at $1000, I have about $1000 in repairs done to it, and it's almost done.

My first car wasn't even that cheap. I payed $1500 for it back in '98, it was an '87 Nissan Maxima.

Most - Sticker for my new 2007 Mazda 6S 5-door was like $23k I think. I financed it though. Least - first car $12,000 for a '99 Taurus with 39k miles on it in 2000.

Although in college I won an ebay auction for a '90 Isuzu Stylus for $450 I think. But the seller didn't want to take an out of state check and I didn't want to carry cash and I didn't really want the car that badly and he didn't really want to let it go that cheap, so we just agreed to cancel the deal.

Holy crap, $235k? Tell us more!

cheapest was a 50 dollar 86 Bonneville 4 door that went straight too scrap. Cheapest I drove was a 100 dollar 84 grand marquis, lady couldn't afford gas too move it and it was marked for tow away. Most was 1100 for a 91 rodeo xlt. I usually don't buy anything that costs more then a grand for myself. wife paid 8900 for an 04 ion back in 06 before we were married.

What can I say, until I cant work on them I wont pay a lot.

$ Free (several) and $18k S2000

I hope to stay in the low end - middle of that range from now on. Expensive enough that I'm not buying a piece of crap, and cheap enough that I don't feel the need to have full coverage and I'm not missing out on the time value of the money.
