After three awesome NA Answers, I'm beginning to hanker for a 240Z project. I'm new to the Z world and don't know who the go-to guys are.

Who is the "Flyin' Miata" of the 240Z? I'm thinking:

  • Street/track suspension upgrades

  • Factory mechanical parts, interior & trim bits

  • Go fast engine parts & triple carb setups

  • Etc.

Not entirely sure there is one the same as Flyin' Miata. Robello is good for engines, I'm sure there are others. You're a lot more on your own on these, but I miss my '71 everyday.

Unless you're going full race on the motor, not sure I'd look at triple carbs. Most streetable engines cannot use all the fuel they can dump.

My office mate with at 280z spends a lot of time wishing at the Techno Toy web site.

Mine used every ounce. And I had the legendary triple mikunis (40mm!) Of course mine had every bolt on available, ported n42 head, Schneider cam, 3.1 striker with maxima diesel crank, flat top pistons, etc. I spanked evo's and z32's on the highway my first night out with it

Techno toy tuning and arizone Z car are the 2 that I keep looking at for my 240 build.

I love the RoadKill Ratsun! I blame them for getting me interested in the Z again.

My ideal build would be something like Petrolicious - Dare to be Different 240Z -- but as a 2.8 that'd happy on pump gas. Love that lopey idle!

As Z prices have sky rocketed I wonder what that dude paid for the Z in the video above. He states the price was too low.

And he says, you know, I'm fluent in Japanese so I talk to the owner.....

There is a classic Datsun group on Facebook that can answer every question you could ever ask about how low it can go, what are the biggest wheels that will fit, and how to drill holes in your fenders to install useless mirrors.

How are these as LS swap candidates?

Probably great. They swallow a small block Chev and M22 very nicely, I know.

Ahrens Z car in Gainesville FL could likely help you out, or at least point you in the right direction. Last time I stopped in there to discuss a 300Z I was looking at there was a wall of 240/260/280/300Z pictures on the wall in racing trim along with plaques and trophies.
