Could also be titled, "Lotus brings hideous to a new level"

I don't think it's hideous.

huh... I already responded to this once...

Anyway. I think it's hawt. Nothing that this fat-butt could ever ride nor afford, but still hot. Kinda like watching supermodels on TV. It's awesome to watch, but you know there's no way you'll ever get one for a ride.

Great to look at(99.999% sure thats the point), but it is most likely worse to ride than a Y2K....

Also, how the hell does a bike with that much carbon still weigh 400lbs?

Not Lotus, but "Lotus".

Welcome to the modern world, where we've learned to recognize that a brand is more important than a product, and a rich history and prestige are contractually transferable.

Can I interest you in some lifestyle products?

Yeah, me too. When I can get a 600/1000cc superbike for less weight for a 1/5th of the money it is a little ridiculous.

Terrifying is this...... http://66.199.148.107/board/viewthread.php?FID=19&TID=16617&set_time=1136348204

Doesn't hurt that my friend currently owns that blue Stage 3 Muzzy's either.

You can get the KTM RC8R, the bike that is rumored to have donated the engine to the Lotus. It weighs 381 lbs. So Lotus Motorcycles added heaviness?

I was saddened with how KTM could put so wide of a seat on a narrow twin bike......I had a couple good passes against the guys Williams special edition though. I big ended him in the 1/4 though.

What were you riding to big end that thing? ZX-14 or a Busa?

The first gen with altered gearing. We were both new to drag racing bikes, and were both running mid-high 11's. I can report that the Akra Evo exhaust sounds amazing on that KTM though.

No E36 M3?! mind me asking what your setup is? or any mech problems you have? or are you just afraid to slip that clutch like it owes you money?

What simplicity? I fail to see how this is more "simple" than any other bike. Lack of turn indicators?

The whole thing looks like it was styled to look really really fast when just sitting there with no person on it. The lines make no sense when you add a rider into the equation. This is the opposite of simple, it is a lot of bodywork that is ultimately superfluous, or downright in the way since you can not access anything directly.

It sure is pretty just sitting there though.

It has a new clutch which isn't very slip friendly.....launching at the same rpm with what felt like the same release led to a 50/50 split with wheelie/bog. I was trapping upper 135+ and he was trapping a consistant 129.

The KTM guy was having wheelie issues(shocking, I know)

Whats your gearing alteration? Try getting some cheap straps, you can easily get mid to low tens stock, the front strap will make you feel like Gadson. I did 10.4 stock on a 55 inch wheel base, I don't know what the hell it would do now

-1/+3 I think(need to open the front cover to check), I won't strap it because I don't want to have to rebuild my forks again for awhile.

As it could use a new chain, I'm going to get a full vortex 525 kit in the stock 16T/39T stock configuration. I just bought a power commander and now have the arrow slip on.
