We like Leon. Six speakers in the LR, two in the kitchen, GREAT house cleaning music!
We took Ian to see a concert when he was in the third grade to the Troy Music Hall, Leon plays better at smaller venues. Again in the 7th grade and once again in HS with a GF. We met him back stage.
No rock band nonsense, just a platter of veggies and polite conversation.
RIP Leon, you've earned it.
I want to be seduced
Is he “I’m up on a tight rope” guy? Or was that Leon Russell?
Either way, I remember me redbone from my brother’s 8-track collection. RIP.
RIP to one of the best singer-songwriter of the 70s.

That is so cool that Ian experienced him so young. What did/does Ian think of him?.
Saw Mr Redbone at the Valley Forge Summer Theatre around '72 when 16. Thirty feet away. I didn't know much about him and was blown away,
Saw Leon Russell at Cornell in about '73.

I saw him for the first time on SNL in the seventies. I saw him live at Chan's in Woonsocket, RI around twenty years ago. He was a great performer. Always fun.

Mods, you can nuke my duplicate thread on this, please.
i saw him play in Madison around '86 or '87 and liked him from the first moment I saw him play on SNL. The guy just appeared to be so humble--no sense of ego at all. I'd been wanting to go see him for a long time but he never got close enough. Sounds like he stopped touring around '15.

I mostly know him from the movie ELF where he played a snowman named Leon.
I learned this morning that he was raised in Canada. Born in Cyrus, or something. He seems awfully cool for someone from Toronto.
