Unrelated: Only had a moment to ask my girlfriend to snap a photo as we were leaving the intersection:
Apparently they were having a huge problem with crabs this year, so the turtle nests were monitored and a small turtle run was dug from the nest to give the turtles a clear path to the water. There were people from the Wildlife Resources Commission there, so I guess that turtle runs are a thing. I was fishing when I stumbled across the whole thing, so I missed most of what they were saying other than "NO FLASH PHOTOGRAPHY!" and "WE WILL ARREST ANYBODY WHO TOUCHES A TURTLE!"
They are serious about their turtles, but some are endangered. I have no idea what kind of turtles these were.
