I don't know about most of you, but growing up with the Herbie movies helped fuel my love for cars.
It's sad to hear that Dean Jones passed away today. He was one of my favorite actors from the plethora of live-action Disney movies.

I love the original movie and the lady from Knots Landing was sweet back in the day.
He was a classy guy. Unusual for Hollywood.

It seemed like he was in every movie that I saw as a kid.
Yeah, he was in pretty much everything I remember too. He was also, as spitfirebill says, a classy person. The 'old guard' of those types is steadily dying off and that's a shame.

I just watched 'The Love Bug" in his memory. I remember seeing Herbie goes to Monte Carlo at the drive in. Maybe I'll watch that one tomorrow.
Besides The Love Bug he was in a bunch of movies I loved as a kid. The Million Dollar Duck, Blackbeard's Ghost and The Ugly Dachshund were some of my favorites.
The Herbie movies were some of my favorites growing up. I just watched the love bug last month.
I owe a lot to Dean and Herbie.
After you watch the original Herbie movie you start looking at old Beetles on Craigslist......
I've been looking at old beetles for a while now. The prices are redonkulous.
My first two cars were VW beetles, a 56 and a 61, so I was a big Dean Jones fan. I even worked t the lcoal theater when it was playing. I used to check out the parts to fix up my cars in the JC Whitney catalog.
My girls love this one!
That snowmobile, the Mighty Mongrel, was definitely challenge friendly.
NRP did something on his this morning. I didn't realize that he performed on Broadway, too. What a set of pipes.

And that totally rules. Thanks for sharing.
I heard the news and immediately watched a few of his movies on Netflix. What a great guy.

I LOVE that movie! About 10 years ago I picked up an unused (go figure!) copy of it at a garage sale. I make my wife and kids watch it with me every winter. I stopped inviting friends over to watch when my wife pointed out people were no longer willing to associate with us. I think the movie rocks!
