Motorhead rocks!
On a related note: A little bit of rock & roll died today.

The first Maiden song I ever heard was "Murders in the Rue Morgue" and I swear to berkeleying god I heard it in a Nightmare on Elm St. movie, and stayed awake for the credits to see who it was...but google tells me I'm a liar.
Also, Kerry King and the world's gnarliest jew tearing up Phantom of the Opera on a Japanese TV show. I swear there's another one where they do "Wrathchild." What the berkeley is wrong with me that I remember this E36 M3?

I listened to Moving Pictures during my bike ride the other night. What an amazing album.
For those who like it fast and raw:

I fall pretty far into the Paul D'Anno maiden was the best Maiden camp. That E36 M3 still gets me thumping - I place myself in time by where I was when I heard Killers. (it was a closet with black light, a water bong and two chicks I had no shot at ever seeing naked).
Di'Anno was definitely more punk and had a great swagger, and I still have his two Maiden albums in heavy rotation. Could he have taken the band to the next level and nailed Number of the Beast, Piece of Mind, Powerslave, etc.? That I don't know. Let's just say that I celebrate the band's entire catalog.
I thought The Final Frontier kicked, too. Sample: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UTzM9_Rh1Zg
Yeah. Honestly, "Murders in the Rue Morgue" was probably the first punk rock song I ever heard...from a metal band. I had a mix tape that had some Killers record stuff, M.O.D., and Anthrax "State of Euphoria" that I would blast from my little garage sale boombox while riding my bike or skateboard in my first attempts to be cool. berkeley. I am old.
Oh, and I love hearing Bruce talk about seeing Maiden and saying "Yep. Reckon I could do a better job than 'im." E36 M3 cracks me up.
aaaand then there is this:
Black Sabbath Wheels of Confusion/The Straightener
Possibly the greatest of the original heavy metal albums of all time.

Nice. That song works well for any high-speed exploits: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GTd1SSYYyss
